Cottonwood Cove Furniture

Made from the highest quality materials, our furniture is rugged and impervious to rain and snow, and will not blow away in the wind. They are solid, environmentally friendly, and easy to clean. Although virtually maintenance-free, please see below for poly furniture cleaning and care instructions.

General Cleaning

  • Scrub boards with soap and water solution using a soft sponge or plastic bristled brush.
  • You can use a soft bristled toothbrush to clean spaces that are hard to reach.
  • To remove surface dust, hose furniture down with cold, clear water.

Deep Cleaning

  • A pressure washer can be used on the lightest setting to deep clean your furniture.
  • It is not recommended to use more than 1,500psi.
  • Keep the tip of the pressure washer at least 10-12 inches from the furniture so it doesn’t damage the lumber.
Stain Recommended Cleaning
Pencil Marks

Use a solution of Dawn® dish soap and water to saturate the stain, then rinse with water.

Ink or Marker

Use a solution of Dawn® dish soap and water to saturate the stain, then rinse with water. For tough stains, pretreat area with WD-40, wiping clean before using solution of water and Dawn® dish soap.

Grease or Oil Stain

Use solution of Dawn® dish soap and water to saturate the stain, rinse with water.

Embedded Dirt

Use solution of Dawn® dish soap to saturate the area, then scrub with a soft bristled brush, and rinse with water.

Wine

Use solution of Dawn® dish soap to saturate the area, then scrub with a soft bristled brush, and rinse with water.

Chewing Gum

Coat WD-40® lubricant or equivalent over the area. Gently pry up on any potentially hard articles slowly with a plastic putty knife. Utilize a soft brush & acetone solvent to remove any fine debris and clean out any crevasses. Rinse area with fresh water.

Bird Droppings

Use solution of Dawn® dish soap to saturate the area, then scrub with a soft bristled brush, and rinse with water.

Stains and Scuffs

A Magic Eraser™️ may be used for stubborn marks.

Iron and Rust

For tough stains from contact with iron, boards can be scrubbed with Iron Out™️.

Always read and follow the product manufacturers’ specific instructions before using any cleaning product. If using alternative cleaning solutions than those outlined above, it is recommended to test the solution on an inconspicuous area of the lumber to make sure it does not harm the surface.
